Friday

By the way, I am still dieting.  Even with all the hoopla of Boo's party I am still dieting.  Trying to anyway.  This week I lost another 1.6, so I am down and I am very happy about that.

Realy.
             I                  Am.
It's      Just    that,           well,                      do you ever have those moments?

You know the ones that I mean-the moments that we don't like to talk about?         Okay, like when you are getting ready to take a shower and catch a glimpse of yourself in the all together, all together NUDE in the mirror.  Like that.

Or, like when you step in the bathroom and daintily drop your drawers and plop yourself down and have a seat and your not going to be there long enough to read so you want to look at something and you look around an see yourself and it's not pretty.  Yeah.  Like that.

Well,    THIS:

Is what my thighs look like!

Just saying.

That is all.

It Seems So Silly

But I am exhausted beyond words!  Just that little trip to NJ has me so worn out that I can barely make it through the day.  I fight the fatigue all day long and struggle to keep my eyes open on the way home from work.  When I get in the door, I go right for the couch or chair and immediately fall asleep for an hour or more until someone wakes me up.  I don't wake up feeling refreshed though, I feel groggy and sleep deprived.  It is amazing to me how my body can react this way to something so seemingly minor.  I used to be able to do so much more and then keep on going!  Now any deviation from my routine sends me into a tailspin and I can't seem to get enough sleep to recover.  Last night I was in bed by 9:00 so I missed the season finale of Dancing With the Stars, Idol, Biggest Looser.  Thank goodness for Tivo!
In other news, I bought a pedometer.  I have been curious about how much I walk in a day, particularly at work and now I can find out.  It is simple to work, I just clip it on to my pants and go and it measures each step I take.  I got it through Weight Watchers, so it also calculates how many steps I need to take to add an extra point into my daily point intake, the date, and time, it's pretty handy.  I'm not sure where I heard it, but I know that the goal is to walk 10,000 steps per day.  That seems like an awful lot of steps, but we'll see!  I have noticed that what it does do is make you more concious of how many steps I am taking and by wearing it encourages me to take more steps.  So hopefully it will bring about some good results.  Heaven knows I  need them!  I didn't have a very good week weight wise and it is the first time since I started on my weight loss effort that not only didn't I have a loss, but I actually showed a gain!  I am not going to beat myself up over it, but I am going to try harder this week.  My whole goal is to try to loose weight while continuing to live a somewhat normal life.  Well, as 'normal' as I ever get anyway.
That's all for now.  I'll check in with you all later!

If you can't beat 'em....

Sometimes I have the need to complain.  I try not to do it too much, but sometimes I just have to let it out.  Here goes: I am in pain!  Not all the time of course, but often.  Too often.  Last night while eating dinner the upper part of my left arm began to ache.  It was almost like a charlie horse in my arm.  Out of nowhere I just start having these searing pains in my muscle.  Then later, it moved to my lower arm, then my leg, and feet and my gluteus maximus.  And it didn't let up for quite a while.  Finally, I decided that if it wasn't going to go away, I would exercise.  Then when I had muscle pain at least I would feel like I was getting some benefit from it.  Right? So, I got plugged into the Wii Biggest Looser game and had at it.  I choose Bob as my trainer.  I like him.  He is gentle-for the most part anyway.  I finished the whole circuit and the cool down exercises.  The result?  Well while I was doing it I was fine, and although I tried my best I just could not hold my ankle while standing on the opposite foot.  (Just can't make those muscles do that!)  Other than that I did all of the exercises and I felt it.  In a good way.  It stretched the muscles that were bothering me and the result was a different type of burn.  Of course as with any type of exercise for me it is always followed by tremors.  But that is different than pain and much easier to deal with!  So overall the result was good.
Which brings me to my next point-I need to loose weight.  No big surprise there, but I am putting it out there.  Here on my blog.  So it begins, a new diet and exercise program.  A challenge to myself.  Maybe if I put it out here I will be held accountable.  Help to hold me accountable.  Send me recipes of good, low fat food.  Encourage me.  I need it.  I'll give you updates along the way, let you know how I am doing and how my body tolerates the exercise.  I am going to try to be reasonable about this too.  Taking a page from my SIL Linda's book I will not totally deprive myself just limit myself.  (Linda, any tips would be appreciated!)
So there you have it.  My resolution to myself-loose some weight and work my muscles!!!
