Cards

As promised, a couple of quick cards!  I finally was able to get into my room to do something other than paint, unpack or organize and boy was it nice.  Baby steps, though.  A little bit at a time!  So, first up an Easter card.

As I said, no light in the studio yet so it is hard to take pics so I have to apologize for the poor quality of the photos. Hope you can get the idea.  The basket is made with the Papertrey Favor It die.  Stamped the eggs.  Ribbon trim is Making Memories.
Embossed the white with a Cuttlebug Folder, the patterned paper is Papertrey, as is the sentiment and the number dies, glitter is Martha Stewart.
Next up is a little birthday card that I made for my niece.  She'll be ten on Monday.  I couldn't wait to play with the Papertry Cupcake die.  I just love it!  So cute.

One last one that I have to share with you today.
This one is another one for Molly, but it's super special. Why? "Cause Bella made it!

She loves to play with paper and lately leaves a trail of paper in her wakes.  Little tiny bits of paper scraps from the cutting that she loves to do.  And when I am working in my room, she wants to be in there with me, right on top of me if possible!  So she made a card for her cousin.  She went through my stamps, picked one out, picked out paper and went to town.  Her favorite part by far was coloring with my markers.  A real treat!  Now she wants a stamp that says' Cards by Bella'.  Ha!

Weekend Recap-the beginning

Too much to put into one post, so I'm going to break it down.  I went to Williamsburg for a weekend of cardmaking with my friend Durinda.  She and I had been trying to get together for a while and it was finally happening.  Jim was going to join me so that he could help occupy Andy and together they could stay out of our hair.  (So to speak!)  We wound up leaving o n Thursday night so that Durinda and I would have all day Friday and Saturday to work.  When we went up to go to bed on Thursday, I was surprised to find a pair of lounging pajamas on our bed wrapped in tissue and tied with a bow!  They were so soft and cuddly!  So Friday we spent the day cardmaking!  Durinda had sent me a beautiful invitation to the event and had indicated that there would be prizes for different types of techniques that I did and there were!  She  had decorated a prize jar and filled it with slips of paper that contained different 'prizes', I'll tell you about those later.  The weekend was filled with fun, laughter, friendship, inky fingers, chatter, paper, scissors, chaos, cards, and all kinds of fun, fun, fun!  Here is one card that I did.
It really is a blessing to have a friend like Durinda!  She is someone with whom I can be totally honest, rely upon, trust in and just have fun with.  She is always there for me, my biggest supporter and a great cheerleader!  Thanks D!  But I gotta tell ya', she worked my fingers to the bone.  Ha! Oh and did I mention, she cooks too!

Been away...

From my computer and haven't had time to post.  It rained all weekend here!  Just as we began to think about making a trip to Home Depot to stock up on some wood, the rain stopped.  But, it was a good excuse for staying inside as much as possible.  Jim and I took in a show at the Weinburg Center on Saturday, after we had dinner at the Green Turtle.  We choose that place because it was the closest to the parking deck, so less rain to walk through.  I wasn't impressed.  But the show was very enjoyable.  It was Jim's choice and it was a Bluegrass group called Seldom Seen and another group that opened.  The opening act played for an hour and a half and then the Seldom Seen played for nearly the same, so it was a long night.
Slept in Sunday and woke up at 9:30, which has got to be a first for me!  It felt good though.  I spent the remainder of the day in the Scrapatorium and got some more work done.  In total, 2 sets of cards, 4 shopping bags, 2 clothespins, a clipboard and covered some Tic Tac's too.  Here's a peek.

My Open House will be on Saturday, November 21st beginning at 1:00, so if you are in the area please stop by!
Thanks for stopping by!

On Friday I knew that a migraine was going to hit me-I woke up feeling fuzzy and not quite steady on my feet. Luckily, I had a short day at work and was able to get home by 1:30. We had a terrible storm hit a short while later and I laid down on the couch to close my eyes and listen to the rain. I woke up at 6:00-the next morning! Talk about loosing time! I have suffered with migraines for most of my life. I have tried just about everything from chiropractic care, accupuncture, pharmaceuticals and herbal remidies, all with varying results. None that were a cure. I had some good results with Imitrex shots, but I developed an allergy to the drug and had to discontinue use. Anyway, it is a royal pain in the tail. Luckily they are not nearly as frequent as they used to be, but when I do get one it's a doozy.

Saturday I woke up feeling quite refreshed and was able to get a few things done. My dear friend Kathy P., and I had been trying to schedule a time to get together either with or without our husbands for dinner and Saturday night the four of us were finally able to meet at Gladchuck's for dinner. It was so nice to be able spend time with them. We have known them since our boys were seven I think and they are both now 23. Their son Bryan is getting married in October and we talked about the wedding plans, their first home and just caught up on each other's lives. It is terrible to say, but they live less than 5 miles away and we so rarely see each other! Anyway, it was great to see them both and I can't wait to see them, and the rest of our "A Team" again.

Right before we were getting to leave, Isabella was eating dinner when she yelled 'It fell, Mom. It fell right out!' She jumped up and ran to show everyone the small tooth that had fallen out of her mouth. The first to 'fall' out. She had to have 2 extracted due to an accident that she had where she did a face plant into a concrete sidewalk. She has decided it's better to loose them naturally.
And lastly, lest you think I have been totally slacking I was able to complete a set of cards and 2 clothespins on Sunday afternoon. Here is the proof.
